Technical Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Technical Engineer to support the setup, operation, and maintenance of technical systems across our live events. The successful candidate will have strong practical experience with installing and maintaining CAT5/CAT6 cabling, CCTV systems, and Windows server and desktop environments.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments and enjoys hands-on problem solving, system installations, and field support.
Key Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure:

Install, terminate, and test CAT5/CAT6 cables in indoor and outdoor event environments.

Maintain structured cabling to support networking, AV, and control systems.

Setup and configure networking equipment (switches, routers, access points).

CCTV & Surveillance Systems:

Install and configure CCTV cameras (IP and analog), recording devices, and monitoring systems.

Ensure full coverage, connectivity, and remote access capabilities.

Conduct routine system checks, upgrades, and fault diagnostics.

IT Support and Systems Management:

Setup and manage Windows servers and desktop environments.
-
Provide onsite and remote support for technical issues during event operations.

Maintain and update operating systems, software applications, and antivirus protection.

Implement and manage local backup and file-sharing systems.

Event Technical Integration:
-
Work closely with production teams to meet event-specific technical needs.

Support the installation of AV, lighting, and other show-critical technologies as needed.

Troubleshoot hardware/software/network issues during live events.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain clear technical documentation and cabling diagrams.

Report technical faults and escalate major issues to senior technical staff.

Qualifications & Experience
-
Proven hands-on experience in:
-
Installing and managing CAT5/CAT6 cabling.
-
CCTV system setup and troubleshooting.
-
Windows Server 2016/2019 and Windows 10/11 desktop platforms.

Knowledge of basic networking principles (DHCP, DNS, static IPs, firewalls).

Competent using diagnostic tools for cable and network testing.

Familiarity with wireless network deployment and security.
-
Full UK Driving Licence (preferred but not essential).
